The MDG goal 8 aimed to develop an "open, rule-based, predictable, non discriminatory trading and financial system".

Knowledge commons aren't traded.

They were missing from the goal, and the "partnership vision".

Let's not repeat this error in the #2030Agenda.

At page 1 of the strategy:

Overarching aim: An efficient, respected international intellectual property system that encourages innovation and creativity while enabling the economy and society to benefit from knowledge and ideas.

Three Key Goals:

1. A Well-Functioning International Framework
2. Good National Regimes
3. Economic and Technological Development

Excerpt from UK Initiative Book in the Actor Atlas: COFOG 04.1.1: Digital Opportunity - A review of Intellectual Property and Growth (Nov. 2010 - May 2011) with a Government Response including: (i) an International Strategy (url (672Kb)); (ii) an IP Crime Strategy ( url (413Kb); and (iii) a Consultation on proposals to change the UK's copyright system (with Closing date March 21, 2012).

In their response (January 14, 2012), Victoria Espinel, Intellectual Property Enforcement Coordinator at Office of Management and Budget, Aneesh Chopra, U.S. Chief Technology Officer, and Howard Schmidt, Special Assistant to the President and Cybersecurity Coordinator for National Security Staff stress that the important task of protecting intellectual property online must not threaten an open and innovative internet.
